Destin Harbor - Okaloosa, FL Fishing Report on 9th Jun, 2026

The surf was absolutely alive during our latest land-based shark fishing session along the Florida Panhandle. Conditions lined up perfectly at dusk, with a strong incoming tide and heavy baitfish movement just past the initial sandbar. Our drone bait deployment put the lines exactly where they needed to be, and it didn't take long for the reels to start singing. Over the course of just a few hours, the team stayed busy on the sand, successfully landing five massive sharks—including a mix of heavy-hitting bull sharks and fast-running blacktips. Every shark was safely brought to the shoreline for quick family photos before a clean, healthy release back into the Gulf. The bite was so dialed in that we actually decided to call it a night early and wind in the lines. When the fishing is this good, it is only right to pack up the heavy gear a bit ahead of schedule and leave some out there for the other folks hitting the beaches tomorrow. Brace Yourself for an Adrenaline-Fueled Shark Encounter at Laguna Beach

It was a gorgeous evening out at Laguna Beach as I welcomed Daniel for our 6 Hour Tiger And Hammerhead Shark Trip with Drop Zone Fishing Charters. May is a prime time for shore-based shark fishing here, as the warming waters bring these impressive predators close to the beaches. The weather was perfect - partly cloudy with just a slight breeze, though we did catch a short rain shower in the late afternoon. We got set up on the sand with some heavy tackle gear, chum, and live bait. It didn't take long before Daniel's rod bent over hard - he was into a feisty Bonnethead Shark! That fish put up one heck of a fight, making some powerful runs and tail-walking across the surface. Daniel kept his cool and worked it in steadily, and we soon had the shark close enough to grab the leader. After a quick photo, we released the Bonnethead back into the surf, none the worse for wear. The bite stayed fairly consistent through the evening, with Daniel hooking into a few more Bonnetheads. Though we didn't manage to land any bigger Tiger or Hammerhead Sharks this time, it was still an exciting and productive day of shore fishing. The rain passed quickly, and we had the beach mostly to ourselves, with just the sound of the waves and an occasional seabird to keep us company.
